Jebe Monthly Fic Rules

  • Polyamorous pairings are allowed.

  • Writers may be subjected to being blacklisted from participating if they do not follow the rules and guidelines of this challenge.

  • Writers can only create 1 fic per round. Please understand this is due to the volume of writers we anticipate per round!

Jebe Monthly Submission Guideline

  • All fics must be submitted to the appropriate round collection. Writers will be given a link to the collection to submit their fics when their sign up are confirmed.

  • Fic will retain an "anonymous" period, so we request that writers uphold that anonymity as well. This means refraining from adding links or messages in your author notes that may indicate who you are until after the author reveals period.

  • Writers can choose to stay completely anonymous. Just let us know!

  • Please make sure to post the fic, as we cannot view drafts!

  • Fics will undergo a quick read by the mods to make sure your fic is properly tagged, meets our word count and requirements, and fits the round's theme it is being submitted to.

  • We reserve the right to reject any fic if it does not follow our rules and guidelines.

  • Please make sure to tag your fics appropriately if a fic includes content that needs a trigger warning.

Additionally: We request that authors refrain from using the Archive Warning "Author Chose Not to Use Archive Warnings" as this sends a message to your readers that your fic may include content listed under AO3's archive warnings section. (Some of this content is banned in our fest rules.) This is a necessary step in properly tagging your fic.We will E-Mail you to make correct changes about this warning should we deem it unnecessary to use the "Chose Not to Use" option.

Submission Method 1

By clicking on the link sent to you in your sign-up confirmation email, you can simply choose the Post To Collection button. It will automatically add the collection tag to your work.

Okay, I've Submitted. Where's my fic?

  • We've found that it might be tough to find your fic as a writer once you've submitted it. There's two ways of finding your fics!

  • Firstly, you can find your fic in your AO3 "Statistics" Tab. You can sort by year to find it, or scroll down to where the ZEROBASEONE tag is categorized.

  • If you're waiting to see if your fic has been approved or is still awaiting approval by mods you can use this button:

Submission Method 2

Create a new work.

Scroll down to the section that is labled "Associations". From there, you can type in the collection tag (or copy-paste!) into the field. It will add your fic to the collection.

Finding Your Fic When You've Submitted!

This is a (hopefully) comprehensive step-by-step guide for finding your fic once it has been submitted to a collection. This applies to all fics inside collections, not just ours!

We (usually) will never outright reject your fic at any point. If there is an issue, the fic will simply remain as "awaiting collection approval" and we will email you to make changes.

Jebe Monthly Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I sign-up even if I didn't join the last round? Yes! You are allowed to participate in as many or as few rounds as you wish.

  • How long are sign-ups open for each round? After trial and error, we have decided to open sign-ups for only 7 days. Please sign up as soon as you can because we will not accept sign ups after the form closes. You can always drop out later without consequences!

  • Will you ever increase the word count limit? This challenge is specifically dedicated to flash fanfic. This encompasses a short word count so we will be keeping the 1,000 word maximum.

  • How do you choose themes for your rounds? We usually do a poll which will be a combination of theme suggestions from writers or readers and whatever mods come up with. If you'd like to see a particular theme, feel free to submit it anonymously through our Neospring!

  • Do I need to have my graphic in order to confirm my participation? No. You can send us your graphic pic at any point in the round. The confirmation just helps us on the back end to keep track of participating writers. We'd rather you confirm with us than not confirm because your graphic pic isn't ready yet!

  • Can I go back and edit my fic after it's been posted? Yes! You can check below for the "Find My Fic" option to find your fic and make changes! If you make changes to the title, summary, rattings, ship or word count, please inform the mods so your graphic can be adjusted.

  • Can I use the graphic you made to post about my fic? Yep! Just kindly credit us or link our tweet in the reply to yours.

  • Can I submit a draft? You can certainly add a draft to the round's collection. Please post your fic when you're done writing so that we may review it. We cannot see drafts at all.

  • Do I have to do anything to make my fic anonymous or unrevealed for the round? Nope. The collection does all of that for you! We have the ability to manually un-anon and reveal fics when the time comes!

  • Will I receive a confirmation that my fic has been approved? Due to how many fics we anticipate for all rounds, we cannot send individual confirmation emails that we've approved your fic. You can use the "Find My Fic" guide to figure out if your fic has been approved!

  • What happens to the themes that have lost the polls? Would you do a dual theme for a round? Themes that were polled and did not win will eventually re-poll. We have a lot of themes to cycle through before we want to circle back to previous themes. We do plan to run quite a few rounds of this fest after all! About dual themed rounds: We generally plan in advance for each round, and generally speaking dual themes would be more work and require additional planning. If the poll results in a tie, we will do a coin flip to determine a winner.
